ACCRA High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness 2-4 September 2008

Over 1,200 representatives of governments of aid-receiving countries, donor institutions, foundations, parliaments, and civil society organizations gathered here today in the Third High Level Forum (HLF) on Aid Effectiveness, a three-day conference on improving the quality and impact of development assistance which took place in Accra, Ghana from 2 to 4 September 2008. The delegation from the GoA was led by the Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Sherefedin Shehu. DSDC Director Ms. Albana Vokshi, participated from the DSDC.
 
The HLF was organised into plenary meetings, 9 roundtables (on 5 dimensions of Paris Declaration and other pertaining issues), a marketplace of ideas and many side events.  Ms. Vokshi was a panellist at the Roundtable on Ownership.  She presented the case of Albania and its progress on the first dimension of the Paris Declaration, The Ownership.  A poster on the same theme was prepared and introduced at the marketplace of ideas, where posters from different countries as well as donor organisations were placed.
 
The HLF concluded with the endorsement of the Accra Agreement for Action (AAA) which reaffirmed the commitments made in the Paris Declaration and.
