Albania signs Cooperation Protocol with Germany for 2010-2011

On 18 May 2010 was held in Tirana, the Development Cooperation Protocol between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of Albania for the years 2010-2011. These negotiations were finalized with the signing of this protocol by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Albania and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).Negotiations for the Albanian side were headed the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Strategy and Donor Coordination and accompanied by an extensive consultation with ministries and institutions benefiting from this protocol as well as with GTZ and KfW from the donors’ side. Areas of cooperation as part of the protocol are: Water and Sewage, Energy, Business and SME Development, Education and Vocational Training. Both sides expressed their determination and commitment to a successful and sustainable cooperation in key sectors, and stressed the progress of projects implemented over the years.
