Second call for proposals for ORIO program is now open

The second round of applications for the ORIO program this year is open and the new application form is available on the website http://www.orio.nl/. The call will close on Monday 16 November 2009 at 17h00 CET. Albania is eligible for ORIO and the priority sectors for Albania this round are:

•  Water/water management
•  Environment
•  Energy and
•  Sea Transport

ORIO, financed by the Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation, supports governments in emerging countries to realize major infrastructure projects in cooperation with the international business community. In addition to a shortage of resources, emerging countries often lack sufficient experience to handle large-scale projects involving drinking water, irrigation, wastewater, environmental protection, transport, energy, civil engineering projects, health care or education. ORIO covers part of the financing to enable local government to purchase the goods, knowledge and skills that it needs. The programme contributes to the development, implementation (construction and/or expansion), operation and maintenance of public infrastructure in developing countries. Brochures have been sent and additional brochures can be send easily to Albanian ministries.
