Technical Consultation with the Federal Republic of Germany

german-bigOn 9 December 2009 a consultation meeting was held between the German Delegation from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the delegation from Government of Albania composed of MoF, DSDC and some LMs concerned, with the aim to prepare 2010 negotiations. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Nezir Haldeda and DSDC Director, Mrs. Valbona Kuko. In his opening speech, Mr. Haldeda thanked the Government of Germany for the intensive support given to Albania towards EU integration, mentioning that this support for 2009-2010 amounts up to 100 mln Euro reaching a total of 1 billion Euros since this cooperation has started. Both parties agreed to concentrate their further efforts and cooperation in these sectors: potable water, sewage and waste management, energy, and sustainable socio-economic development. In addition, German side proposed that the strategy of mutual cooperation to be reflected in the strategic documents for each sector and informed that Mrs Ute Rodrian, Director of KFW will be in charge for water, energy, sewage and waste management sectors while Ulrike Gantzer-Sommer, GTZ Director witll be responsible for the sector of sustainable socio-economic development.
